Steve Karg, of Legrand, starts new five-year term as voting member.
(Atlanta, Ga – June 21, 2024) BACnet International is proud to announce that Steve Karg will continue as a voting member of the BACnet Testing Laboratories Working Group (BTL-WG). Karg was inducted during a BTL-WG virtual meeting in 2020, and will begin a new five-year term on July 1, 2025. The BTL-WG operates under the auspices of BACnet International.
“Steve has been a long-time, valuable member of the BTL Working Group in multiple capacities,” stated Andy McMillian, BACnet International President. “We look forward to his continued service with the group.”
Steve Karg is a principal engineer for Wattstopper commercial lighting control products at Legrand, North America, in Birmingham, Alabama. He has been an active member of the BACnet standards committee since 2001, and convenes the BACnet Lighting Applications working group. He created an open source BACnet Protocol Stack in C in 2004 which is hosted on bacnet.sourceforge.net and github.com/bacnet-stack, and contributed to the BACnet decoders and MS/TP capture tools in Wireshark.

BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL) was developed and is operated by BACnet International to support compliance testing and interoperability testing activities. The BTL oversees operation of the global BACnet product certification program and administers the BTL Working Group (BTL-WG).
